My Introduction To PACE Business Manager

In 1994, I became the official trainer of the PACE program for the area of Greater Vancouver, BC. In mid 1995 I resigned as trainer and focused on helping PACE users with their marketing needs.

Accounting

I began to realize just how much PACE was being underused so I then started to help my (marketing) clients setup and operate their accounting systems properly.

SQL (Queries)

The next step was to begin exploiting the (SQL) feature that allows extracting data and importing into Windows-based programs. The first application to be developed was a vehicle-service reminder system that allowed the use of colour and graphics, printed on paper (or card stock) of any size.

The Database

Over the years I have acquired the knowledge of how the PACE database works. I have purchased software tools that allow me to see the actual data without needing PACE. I also purchased the core database for knowledge and to run experiments. This has allowed me to be able to offer support for repairing data corruption or correcting input errors such as wrong odometer, misspelled names on invoices etc.

While my support capabilities (or availability) might not be as extensive as Epicor’s help staff was, I can perform pretty much all repairs. Having said that, I can certainly offer top notch advice on any aspect of using PACE, including accounting questions.

Doing service reminders is not constricted to printing on 4”x6” index cards on a dot matrix printer. It is possible to export customer and vehicle data to do service reminders in Windows. This has the benefit of printing on any paper/cardstock and any size you desire on any printer. The example shown here shows the front of a card with the advertising, and the back for a customized text and addressing.
